As Flour and Stone enters its 15th year of baking cake for our community the most important focus for our team is to continue with purpose and meaning. Along the way we aspire to create opportunities through training, education and creative freedom so the vibe is generous and abundant. We hope that you can feel this when you come in. This all sounds a bit dreamy and although not every day is joyful, it’s a rich working environment that we are all grateful for in various ways.
The flip side is that to remain present in this capacity there is a business that operates behind the scenes. I’ve always thought that putting the purpose and vision first ensures the business will be taken care of. For the most part that has proven to be true.
This being said, the cost of ingredients still increase alongside my romanticised strategy for business, equipment breaks daily and taxes need to be paid quarterly. In order to pay for these rising costs we are increasing cake prices from next Monday 19th January. There will be a few additional items on the counter that will increase and we hope that you can support this so that we are able to keep teaching these skills.
This year we will be piloting a new apprentice initiative to invigorate what I believe is an old, outdated system of education. It’s a bit outside the box but I’m excited about the way in which our apprentices will be able to tell a different story about their training. I will update you along the way.
Meanwhile if you have occasion to buy a cake in the near future you may want to take advantage of current prices during the next week.

* Your subscription includes either five or ten of our 8-inch cakes, depending on the option you selected.
* You need to email or ring us whenever you’re ready to purchase.
* The price you’ve paid is locked in at our previous rates, before the price increase taking effect on Monday, 19 January.
* Your full subscription value can be used any time throughout 2026, giving you plenty of flexibility.
* If you’d like to upgrade to a larger cake size, this is absolutely possible—additional charges will apply, calculated using the old pricing.
* Courier prices are charged for in addition and will be calculated at time of ordering the cake.
* While cancellations or refunds aren’t available, your subscription can be transferred to someone else and used until all credits are fully redeemed.
