SUMMARY:The Japanese Pantry with Emiko Davies
DESCRIPTION:Emiko Davies has currently escaped the Italian heat for some winter respite in Australia. I’m very pleased to say she will be visiting Flour and Stone for an exclusive peek at her new cookbook The Japanese Pantry: From Sake to Soy: Essential Ingredients for Japanese Home Cooking. \nWe will be hosting two Q and A sessions with Emiko in our Pantry on August 23rd where we will be cooking from The Japanese Pantry and then afterwards Emiko will be signing books. Our counter will also be abundant with cakes from Emiko’s new book. \nEmiko has chosen 7 ingredients that make up 7 chapters that she considers essential in her Japanese pantry: soy sauce\, miso\, rice vinegar\, seaweed\, sake\, sesame and tea. \n“This is a book that I hope will inspire people to make the most of these powerful pantry ingredients and feel confident in recreating Japanese flavours at home that are inherently simple and full of flavour. In each chapter I have given context to the process\, history and culture behind the making of those ingredients (I travelled to Japan last year to visit producers of each of these ingredients!)\, sprinkled with essays that highlight important stories about Japanese cuisine”. Emiko Davies \nThis is Emiko’s seventh cookbook\, and won’t be out until this late October 2025 in the US\, UK and Australia so this is your opportunity to get your hands on a copy first. \nSaturday August 23rd 2025 at The Pantry\, Flour and Stone 53 Riley Street\, Woolloomooloo. SUMMARY:Boozy High Tea with Rose Kentish (Full Circle Spirits) and Nadine Ingram (Flour + Stone)
DESCRIPTION:This is an event for the epicurious and adventurous. Rose and Nadine will use the concept of perfumery (top\, heart and base notes) to deliver a full sensory boozy high tea experience. \nNadine Ingram\, founder of Sydney’s iconic bakery Flour & Stone\, is coming to the Adelaide Hills this September to join Full Circle Spirits’ head distiller Rose Kentish in a special\, sensory rich\, Boozy High Tea experience. \nExpect a High Tea of aromatic\, flavourful and extremely delicious cakes freshly baked by Nadine and paired with alcoholic and non-alc drinks made by Rose. Each cake has a story\, and each drink will harmonise with and respond to that story. \nFor non-drinkers\, thoughtfully considered non-alcoholic pairings will be offered across the afternoon tea so that everyone has an equally beautiful experience. \nFlour & Stone is renowned for its Pannacotta lamingtons\, flaky croissants and dreamy cakes. Nadine has released her 2nd cookbook in late 2024 – Love Crumbs – about which Nigella Lawson exclaimed it was “beautifully braiding the poetry and practicalities of baking”. \nFull Circle Spirits is an internationally award winning South Australian distillery\, led by Rose Kentish. With a background in winemaking\, distilling and perfumery\, Rose creates beverages with a unique approach. She says “I make from the place where winemaking\, distilling and perfumery intersect”. \nSeating is limited\, so book now to avoid disappointment. \nSee event website for tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/boozy-high-tea-full-circle-spirits-x-flour-and-stone
